Product Description The Kent Dual Drive 21 Speed Tandem Bicycle offers high quality construction at a reasonable price. This durable tandem bike is comfortable and stylish, with a pair of soft gel saddles and extra-wide, bump-gobbling 2.1-inch tires. The components, meanwhile, are built for long-lasting use, including the 21-speed Shimano drive train, Revo twist shifters, and reliable alloy linear pull V brakes. Best of all, the frame features low stand-over heights (29 inches in the front and 20 inches in back), making it easy for both riders to hop on. Also equipped with a pair of water bottle holders and a heavy-duty kickstand, the tandem bike is perfect for people who want to spend a little quality time with a spouse or good friend.

Adequate for the Money July 18, 2010 Brian Lee Robinson We received the bike in good time and in good condition - it was missing the front wheel lock washers, but all else was there. Once we got it put together (+/- 6 hours) it rode well. Tires are sketchy, as mentioned in other reviews, but serviceable for cruising around the neighborhood. Shifting was adequate once adjusted - I mean, this is not a $3000 Cannondale with SRAM Red, so don't expect a lot of precision.
I contacted Customer Service to get replacement front wheel lock washers - several days later, I received a nice shipment of headset bearings. Oh well - I just tightened the front axle bolts a little more and went my way.
The word here is "adequate". Don't expect to take this bike on all-day tours, unless you spend considerable time and money upgrading. For the money though, it's hard to complain (much).
Great Bike for the money. June 24, 2010 P. Ralston (MI USA) I owed a bike shop for over thirteen years so for me the assembly was easy. My recommendation is to have a bike shop
final tune this bike after you put it together. This bike would have retailed at my shop for at least $400.00.
I would call around first before showing up with this bike at a store.Ask how much to tune a tandem.Or for the
people who don't have the time to assemble ask for a price for complete assembly.
A bicycle built for 2.... June 17, 2010 Antonio M. (Mount Vernon, WA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The bike was delivered quickly and was fairly easy to assemble. We are enjoying riding together and the only issue we are having with this particular bike is that the front pedals are very close to the front wheel. When making a tight turn there is contact between the pedals (or feet) and the front wheel. Ouch!
Four thumbs up June 17, 2010 William Boyan (Bainbridge Island, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took about 45 minutes to assemble. You need to have allen wrenches that were not included with the bike. It's very stable. I am 6'2" and 200 pounds and I fit just fine. If you have very short legs, you will have trouble with the front position.
We have biked all over town. It's lots of fun. It's easy to ride. I need stronger legs to go up steep hills, because it's a little heavy. I shopped for a long time before picking this bike. It's a very good ride. It's lot's of fun. The price is unbeatable. I give this four thumbs up. (Two for each rider.)
Good entry tandem June 7, 2010 Alicia L Chandler (Erie, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We got this so we could go on longer rides with my 8 year old son. It works well. With the seat all the way down, he is able to reach the pedals. The bike frame also makes it easy for him to put his feet up when he gets tired. The captain seat adjusts to fit me as well, but may be small for anyone over 6'. We have my daughter in tow in a trailer behind it and it works very well.
I'm still fine tuning the shifting, and it may never be 100%, but considering the price I'm willing to put up with a few quirks. The frame is nice and I would be willing to upgrade components in the future.
It's a small thing, but the kickstand is by far the nicest I've ever used on a bike.
For some reason it took a little bit for the freewheel to tighten down all the way, but it seems to be working great now.
