We bought this to attach onto daddy's bike for around the neighborhood and while on camping trips and such. It was very easily to assemble, and my husband pops it on and off his bike in no time flat.
It's a very sturdy piece for the price and my just turned 4 year old daughter (42", 41 lbs) fits on it perfectly.
She loves riding behind daddy so much, that every time we head out for a bike ride, no matter how short, she always wants to "ride behind daddy."
The ability to fold the bike is perfect for us to allow us to travel with it more compactly.
The bike itself has a bit of play where it attaches, and we can't seem to figure out how to get it any tighter. It seems to be the design of the bike. It seems to be very stable to us, and we check it every time to make sure the bike is secure. You must take extra caution to not wiggle your rider back there or take corners too fast lest they go flying off.
We bought the larger model as our daughter is very tall for her age at 4 years old, but I don't know that I'd put a child younger than 3.5 or 4 on a bike like this anyway, so I think the smaller one would be a waste of money. 3 years old is pretty young for this type of bike and we even have to keep reminding our daughter to keep both hands on the handle bars.
Even when she's able to ride her own bike without training wheels, I can see her wanting to ride this for years to come.

Great for kids so they can keep up on long bike rides, I live in an area with steep hills so the weight of the bike and the toddler is difficult on steep hills but possible, my son absolutely loves it

I was so excited to make this purchase in the spring this year. My daughter was just as excited if not more. It was easy to put together. However, I had a little bit of trouble tightly screwing the attachment to the bike. I may have even stripped the part that I tighten. Well, we rode for two days with no problems. On the third day, we were riding and came to screeching stop. As written in other reviews, it was like the tire was superglued to the frame. In order to get it started again, I had to rotate the tire backwards. I thought the problem was fixed. But it happens whenever my daughter doesn't pedal. I haven't yet tried to fix the problem. I thought I would check to see what has happened in the past. It looks as if this is a recent problem, because when I researched the product before I made my purchase it seemed that this was the one to buy. Now I have to decide if I should bring it to my local bike shop or try to go through the manufacturer. I like the idea of this bike. I like the ease of attaching and detaching it to my bike. But the fact that the wheel locks up and that this is not an isolated incident would make me not purchase a Trail a Bike online again if ever.
I feel that I needed to make this review, because I am sure that it has probably happened to many people that have not reported this problem at all.

We contemplated between buying the campact version of Adams Trail-A-Bide or the orginal for our three-year-old after reading so many reviews saying their child could not reach the pedals. I decided to take a chance and purchased the oringinal Adams Trail-A-Bike since it was 30 dollars cheaper. So glad I did. My son could reach the pedals with no problem, although he might be slightly tall for his age. We've used it twice so far and he loves it!! It was easy to hook-up and seems very safe and secure.

I ordered the Adams trail-a bike from a sports and fitness store on line. It arrived fine and was easy to put together however after riding it for maybe a half mile the wheel suddenly froze up. I had to carry it home. I took it to a bike shop and they diagnosed the problem and gave me a $25 estimate to fix it. I called the company that I ordered it from and they referred me to Adams. They told me that this had been a problem with this model in previous years. Adams said to go ahead and have it fixed and they would cover it . I did this but when I called them back to ask for reimbursement they would not honor the warrantee. After a few more calls I became frustrated and gave up. In all fairness now that the bike is fixed I really like it. My advise to anyone considering this bike is to buy a different brand from a local source.
